Don T. "Scotty" Cameron (born November 8, 1962) is an American golf club maker famous for making putters for Acushnet Company, which operates golf ball brands and clubs. Brand putter Scotty Cameron has been a part of Titleist since 1994.

Personal life
Cameron was born in Glendale, California. He then moved to Fountain Valley, where he grew up, attending high school at Edison's Huntington Beach High School. He now lives in Carlsbad, California with his wife and two daughters.

Career and company
Cameron learned how to make putters with his father in a family garage at an early age.
In 1991, Cameron designed and produced putters and worked directly with selected golf equipment manufacturers, including Maxfli, Cleveland, and Ray Cook Golf Company. During this year, he produced his first retail production putter, dubbed the Fry's Pity Putter. Later that year, Cameron started producing putters exclusively for Mizuno.
In late 1992, Cameron and his wife, Kathy, founded Cameron Golf International and started selling the Scotty Cameron Classic putter line. In 1993, Bernhard Langer won the Master Tournament using a prototype putter Cameron. The win helped to restart Cameron's new company.
In August 1994, Titleist fought against the competition of five other companies to contract with Cameron to make a putter exclusively for Acushnet Company. Since then, the Scotty Cameron brand has grown into one of the leading names in golf.
In 1996, Scotty Cameron Putter Studio was first set up in San Diego's North County where the top players in the world came to analyze and understand their punches and have a custom putter made by Cameron.
In 2004, Acushnet Company expanded the recording and square capabilities of Putter Studio. Cameron and his team moved to a new research and development facility built from the ground up. The Putter Studio also houses Custom Shop, where anyone can prepare orders online and send Scotty Cameron putter for restoration and/or customization.
In 2007, the Scotty Cameron Museum & amp; Gallery opened in Japan near Tokyo. It houses many of Scotty Cameron's products, putters and prototypes, including many personal artifacts.
On May 20, 2011, Fortune Brands, Inc. announced an agreement for the sale of the Acushnet Company's golf business, including the Scotty Cameron brand, to a group led by Fila Korea Ltd., for $ 1.225 billion in cash. According to Gene Yoon, chairman of Fila Korea, this acquisition gives them a well-known brand for sale in emerging markets in Asia.

Scotty Cameron Golf Gallery, a place for golfers to experience Art of Putting, the same methodology and technology used by Scotty Cameron in putting the best players in the world, opening its doors on July 9, 2014, just north of San Diego.
The gallery, located on Highway 101 in the coastal city of Southern California Encinitas, is described as "part retail space, high-end gallery products section, 100 percent putter installation facility." This is an extension of Scotty Cameron Putter Studio, which players from all around the world visit regularly. In the gallery, golfers gain the knowledge provided by Cameron's high-speed video recorder with stroke analysis tools, as well as the expertise of his highly trained craftsmen.
The gallery also has a rotating array of Scotter Cameron Tour rare putters and one-off creations. A personal clothing personally selected by Cameron is also available.
In May 2016, Cameron opened the door to Tokyo's Scotty Cameron Golf Gallery in the chic Aoyama shopping district. Located on the third floor of the Jewels of Aoyama building, visitors are presented with an elegant boutique experience that reflects the essence of the Cameron brand.
Similar to the Gallery of California, the Tokyo Gallery features a never-before-seen Cameron creations, outfit, and Tour nipples that are tailor-made for players and connoisseurs. A studio that fits open in the summer of 2016 presents players with the experience of pairing the same Tour-quality putter offered at the California Putter Studio and Gallery.
Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods used Scotty Cameron for most of his career and for 13 of his 14 major championships (he used a different Scotty Cameron putter in the 1997 Masters triumph). It is made of 303 Stainless Steel Germany. It has one vision point and red "cherry point" on both face and in back cavity. Putter has an empty sol and has a "Tiger" on the left bumper and "Woods" on the right bumper. Woods used Ping's grip on his putter. He has been using Scotty Cameron putter for all his professional golf victories until December 2011. The most widely used Scotty Cameron putter was first played in July 1998.
In 2010, Woods switched from a putter he had used since 1999 to Nike Method 001 putter. This change is not without controversy, and Woods spent almost a year experimenting with various Nike models before setting up a configuration he liked.
In 2016, at the Hero World Challenge, Woods returned to his Scotty Cameron putter after not playing the tournament in 16 months. He said the putter returned to his bag the day after Nike announced his exit from the golf equipment business. This is the same putter he used to win 13 of his 14 majors.
Great victory
A number of other professional golfers use Scotty Camerons, including some who are staffed by many other major golf companies (Nike, Taylormade, Callaway, etc.). Since 1993, more than 500 tournaments around the world and about 1/3 (Tiger Woods has won almost 1/2 of this with his Scotty Cameron putter) of the four majors have been won by players using Scotty Cameron putter. In 1996, The Scotty Cameron brand won its first putter count on the Tour through the Darrell Survey. Putter Scotty Cameron ranks second in victory in the modern era, behind Ping.
