The love of God is the general concept of both the Old Testament and the New Testament.
Love is a key attribute of God in Christianity, even if in the New Testament the expression "God is love" explicitly appears only two times and two verses not too far away: 1 John 4: 8,16 .
God's love has become the center of spirituality of some Christian mystics like Teresa of Avila.

Old Testament
The Old Testament uses a rich vocabulary to express God's love, as a concept that appears in many instances. For example, the prophet Hosea saw God's love as the basis for Israel's election (see Hosea 11: 1). In Isaiah 38, God declares his love for the individual as well. Many Christians see Solomon as a symbol of Christ's relationship with his church. God's love appears in some texts (eg Hosea 1-3, and then in Yeh.16 and Isa. 62, etc.); However, the exegesis of God's love in the Old Testament presents problems for modern scholars, especially completing references to produce consistent interpretations that have been challenging and subject to debate.
According to Psalm 5, God hates all evil workers
For you are not a God who has pleasure in evil, and the wicked will not abide in you. Stupid people will not stand before you: You are the most hated of all workers. You have to destroy those who speak rents: God will hate the bloody and cunning people. But to me, I will go into your house in your many mercies; and in your fear I will worship your holy temple. Psalm 5: 4-7

New Testament
Both the terms love of God and the love of Christ appear in the New Testament. In such cases as Romans 8:35 and Romans 8:39, their use is related in the experience of believers, without affirming their equality. In John 14:31 Jesus reveals his love for God the Father. This verse includes the only direct statement by Jesus in the New Testament about the love of Jesus to God the Father. The love of the Father for His Son (Jesus Christ) is revealed in Matthew 3:17 by the voice of Heaven during the Baptism of Jesus. The same sentiment was then expressed during the Transfiguration of Jesus in Mark 9: 7, where a voice from Heaven told the three disciples: "This is my Son, whom I love.
Love is a key attribute of God in Christianity. 1 John 4: 8 and 16 state that "God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God is in him." John 3:16 states: "God loves the world very much..."
In the New Testament, God's love for humanity or the world is expressed in Greek as agape ( ????? ). The same Greek word
Christian Christendom
The experience of God's love is a major part of most traditions of Christian mysticism. This experience of God's love plays a central role in the Spiritual Exercises, which is the basis of Ignatian spirituality. God's love also played an important role in medieval German mystical writings, such as the Mechthild of Magdeburg and Hildegard von Bingen, who portrayed divine love as a burning desire. Julian of Norwich expresses the same sentiments in himself, the Sixteen Revelations of Divine Love (c. 1393).
Thomas Aquinas teaches that the essence of sainthood lies in the love of God, and the ThÃÆ' à © rÃÆ'èse of Lisieux makes the love of God the center of his spirituality.
