Songs of Innocence and Experience is a collection of William Blake's pictorial poems. It comes in two phases. The first few copies were printed and illuminated by William Blake himself in 1789; five years later he tied these poems with a new set of poems in a volume titled Songs of Innocence and Experience that Dispel Two Conflicting Countries from the Human Soul . William Blake was also a painter before the innocent songs and experiences and made paintings such as Oberon, Titania, and Puck dancing with fairies.
"Innocence" and "Experience" are the definitions of consciousness that rethink Milton's existential state of "Heaven" and "Fall". Blake categorizes our mode of perception that tends to coordinate with the chronology that would become standard in Romanticism: childhood is a state protected from innocence rather than original sin, but not immune to fallen world and its institutions. The world sometimes afflicts childhood itself, and in every event becomes known through "experience," a state marked by the loss of childhood vitality, by fear and inhibition, by social and political corruption, and by Church-type oppression, State, and ruling class. "Contrary Country" This volume is sometimes marked with titles repeatedly repeated or contrasted: in Innocence , Baby Joy , in Experience , Baby Grief ; in Innocence , Lamb , in Experience , The Fly and The Tyger . The cruel simplicity of poetry such as The Chimney Sweeper and The Little Black Boy show Blake's acute sensitivity to the reality of poverty and the exploitation that accompanies the "Dark Satanic Mills" of the Industrial Revolution.

Innocent Songs
Songs of Innocence were originally the first full-length prints of 1789. This is a collection of concepts from 19 poems, engraved with artwork. This collection mainly shows a happy and innocent perception in pastoral harmony, but sometimes, as in The Chimney Sweeper and The Little Black Boy, subtly point out the dangers of this naive and vulnerable state.

Inspirasi dan tujuan Blake
Blake uses the simple structure of short and lyrical poems to subtly question and criticize his community practice. In The Chimney Sweeper and The Little Black Boy, Blake attacked the negative treatment of racial minorities and the suffering caused by child labor. Most interestingly, Blake uses many experiences to highlight the negative influence of the Church, which he considers corrupt and repressive. This can be seen primarily in The Garden of Love and A Little Boy Lost.
For Blake, we need to solve "mind-forg'd manacles" (London) caused by repressive religion, and embrace natural and physical pleasure as harmonious and essential for the healthy development of content maturity. As seen in The Little Girl Lost, Little Girl Discovered and A Little Girl Lost, Blake saves hope for the future, that society will reject the flawed doctrine and embrace pastoral life with a combination of goodness from innocent and experienced perceptions.
Music settings
Poems from both books have been set for music by many composers, including Ralph Vaughan Williams, Joseph Holbrooke, John Frandsen, Per Drud Nielsen, Sven-David SandstrÃÆ'¶m, Benjamin Britten, and Jacob ter Veldhuis. Individual poetry has also been established by, among others, John Tavener, Victoria Poleva, Jah Wobble, Tangerine Dream, Jeff Johnson, and Daniel Amos. The modified version of the poem "The Little Black Boy" is set for music in the song "My Mother Bore Me" from Phantom music by Maury Yeston. Folk musician Greg Brown recorded sixteen poems on his 1987 album Songs of Innocence and Experience and by Finn Coren in his book Blake Project . In 2011, Victor Vertunni released a new music album on Innocence and of Experience songs, another stepping stone in the long tradition.
Poet Allen Ginsberg believes that the poems were originally intended to be sung, and that by studying rhymes and metered works, a Blakean show can be duplicated. In 1969, he was conceived, arranged, directed, sung, and playing piano and harmonium for a song entitled Songs of Innocence and Experience by William Blake, tuned by Allen Ginsberg (1970).
Composer William Bolcom completed the entire collection of poetry in 1984. In 2005, Bolcom's recording by Leonard Slatkin, Michigan State Choir, and the University of Michigan on the Naxos label won four Grammy Awards: Best Choral Performance, Classical Best Classical Composition, Best Classic Album, and Best Producer of the Year (classic).
Composer Victoria Poleva completed the "Songs of Innocence and Experience" in 2002, a space cycle on verses by Blake for soprano, clarinet and accordion. This was first performed by the Accroche-Note of France ensemble.
Swedish composer David Unger completed "Night songs op 24", a setting of five poems from Songs of Innocence for solo and piano in 2013. This was first performed by baritone Anthony Schneider and pianist Rosemary Barnes in Vienna, Austria that same year..
Popular group Tangerine Dream, based on the album "Tyger" on the lyrics by William Blake.
Popular rock group U2 released an album titled Songs of Innocence in 2014, and followed it in 2017 with Songs of Experience .

Faxed edition
The Huntington Library and Art Gallery of San Marino, California, issued a small facsimile edition in 1975 including sixteen dishes reproduced from two copies Acne and Experience Songs in the collection , with the introduction by James Thorpe. Reproduced songs are Introduction , Baby Joy , Lamb , Laughter Songs and Nurse Songs of Songs of Innocence , and Introduction , The Clod & amp; Pebble , The Tyger, The Sick Rose , Nurses Song and Baby Sorrow < Experience Songs . Tate Publishing, in collaboration with The William Blake Trust, produced a folio-containing edition of all the songs from Innocence and Experience in 2006. The color plate of each poem is accompanied by literal transcription, and this volume was introduced by critics and historians Richard Holmes.
