Sinopsis
Living Single centered on six people consisting of four women and two men who live single lives in the heart of Brooklyn, New York.
The series focuses on two different households in one brownstone, one shared by an independent female trio and another shared by a pair of male friends who have known each other since they spent their youth in Cleveland, Ohio. In the first apartment, Khadijah James (Queen Latifah), an editor and publisher who works hard from the monthly independent urban fiction Flavor, lives with her cute yet naive cousin Synclaire James (Kim Coles), a candidate actress who works as receptionist Khadijah and has an interest for Troll dolls; and his childhood friend from East Orange, New Jersey, Regina "Rà © à © gine" Hunter (Kim Fields), a conscious buyer of images, who is constantly looking for rich men to spend his life together (and spend his money). Later in the series, RÃÆ' à © gine became the costume assistant for the soap opera Palo Alto . When the show was canceled, she became a wedding planner and left the apartment to move with her fiancé, Dexter Knight (Don Franklin). Maxine "Max" Shaw (Erika Alexander), sharp-tongued lawyer and best friend Khadijah from their university classes at Howard University, often drop by to share her unique insights, keep them entertained by sharing the day, to make sure the girls' refrigerators are not over stock, and start trouble with Kyle.
Kyle Barker (T.C. Carson) lives in a second apartment with Overton Wakefield Jones (John Henton). Kyle is a stockbroker whose constant verbal strife with Max does not hide their obvious sexual attraction. Overton is a friendly, but country man, a maintenance for their building owners (and neighbors) who have a deep affection for Synclaire and many wisely homespun wisdom for others. Kyle and Max end up pursuing sexual relations, but when he decides to take a job in London and invites Max to join him, he refuses it. Maxine later became confused over his decision and, after defending a man who claimed to be the second coming of Jesus (Harold Perrineau), he began to seriously seek his life purpose. Through a series of events, Max decides that his goal should be a mother and during the process of insemination without consciously taking Kyle's sperm specimen based on the list of qualities he wants for his son to have. Kyle is back in the final series and both are at peace. Overton and Synclaire also gathered and their relationship peaked in marriage at the end of the fourth season. In season five, they move together, leaving Overton and Kyle's apartment open for new character Roni DeSantos (Idalis DeLeon), a New York regional DJ, to move on. Finally it was revealed that DeSantos had an affair with Ira Lee "Tripp" Williams III, (Mel Jackson), new roommate Khadijah and RÃÆ'à © gine who moved when Synclaire's room was available. Tripp is a songwriter. Synclaire joins an improvisational comedy group in which he gets the attention of Tony Jonas, a Warner Bros. television executive who hired him as a nun for a new comedy series he developed.
Along with trying to make Flavor a success, Khadija also spent time searching for Mr. Right. He finally finds it in childhood friend Scooter (Cress Williams) with whom he left brownstone for the last time in the final series.
