Mint Condition is a phrase used to indicate the quality of a previously owned item because it does not exhibit imperfections and is in pristine condition relative to its original production condition. Initially, the phrase associated with the way collectors describe the condition of the coin. Since the name given to the coin factory is "mint", then the mint condition is the condition of the coin when leaving the mint leaves.

The term mint condition can be used to describe collectibles, including action figures, dolls, toys, stamps, notes, comic books, and similar items. This term may have slightly different meanings in each case. For example, when describing a trading card, a "perfect" condition is used to describe a condition as when it is pulled from a package, while "mint" will be new but opened. Similar graduation of mint conditions exists for other collections based on their particular characteristics. For example, postage may be mint or mint never hinged.
