Hank Williams' discography consists of thirty-one singles released during his six-year career; as well as posthumous works including: singles, compilation albums and unreleased material. During his lifetime, Williams placed thirty songs on Billboard's Top Recordings C & amp; W, while he has seven number one hits.

After being signed with Fred Rose's help to Sterling Records, Williams helped his debut recording session on December 11, 1946 at D Castle Castle studio in Nashville, Tennessee. The singer cut out four songs, back then on 13 February 1947 to cut the four new sides. The first single, "Never Again (Will I Knock on Your Door)" supported by "Calling You" was released in January 1947. Dissatisfied with Sterling, and after studying the creation of MGM Records by Loews Corporation, Fred Rose negotiated. deal to Williams. Rose bought the Sterling master, became Williams's manager and signed it to the label, agreeing to record all sessions in Nashville. In June 1947, Williams debuted on the MGM label with "Move it On Over" which was supported with "(Last Night) I Heard You Crying in Your Sleep". The release quickly became a hit.

On September 23, 1952, Williams cut off his last session, recording "Your Cheatin 'Heart", "Kaw-League", "I Can Never Be Shame Against You" and "Take This Chain From My Heart". Williams's last single during his lifetime, "I Could Never Get Out This World Alive" supported by "I Could Never Be Ashamed You" was released on November 21, 1952. From 1947 to 1952, MGM Records released twenty-seven singles by Williams, five of which turned into millions of sellers. "Kaw-League", "Your Cheatin Heart" and "Take This Chain from My Heart" became posthumous number one.
